Description
You will have –
- Two years of direct hands-on experience in Datacenter Operations (racking and stacking equipment and replacing break-fix items),
- A minimum of one year of experience logging into network devices and servers using the command-line interface (CLI) to perform basic configuration, validation, monitoring, and troubleshooting activities.
- Knowledge about the Datacenter cabinets, PDUs, power and cooling concepts.
- Knowledge of network fundamentals, including IP addressing, VLANs, routing, switching, and network connectivity.
- Experience in remotely troubleshooting network devices, server connectivity, interfaces, and infrastructure issues.
- Knowledge of network monitoring tools and remote management platforms like Grafana and Prometheus.
Good for you to have –
- Prior experience building and maintaining a network and a set of servers
- Experience working with Juniper and/or Cisco network devices.
- Experience coordinating with remote Smart Hands teams and Datacenter providers for network-related activities
- JNCI/A/S/P/IE, CompTIA, CC/NT/NA/NP/IE
You will definitely possess these technical skills –
- Basic level Linux OS system administration experience
- Basic level JunOS or Cisco IOS hands on experience
- Basic understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking concepts.
- Ability to review network device logs, alarms, interface status, and hardware health remotely.
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnosis of network equipment, servers, and connectivity issues.
Bird’s eye view of your role –
- Remotely access and perform operational activities on network devices and servers across global POPs.
- On regular basis, interact with Aryaka datacenter providers to complete tasks.
- Proactively identify, diagnose, analyze, and troubleshoot the issues in global POPs.
- Implement audit functions for spare parts, equipment, and datacenter resources
- Research alternative solutions or workarounds with knowledge of the impact.
- Appropriately escalate issues to the next level or other team members.
- Implement regular upgrades to the DCOps JIRA ticket queue.
- Document issues and solutions in the DCOps Data Repository.
- Share information on projects to all stakeholders.
- Take direction from other members of the DCOps, Sysops, Netops and PMops teams.
- Readiness to work outside of regular office hours when required, including being on call in a 24×7 environment.
