Physics Programmer Intern
Epic Games is on the lookout for dynamic interns to join our dev teams in 2024. Whether you work on Fortnite, Unreal Engine, or any of our other games, products, and services, you'll join a team that's pushing the limits of interactive entertainment.

ENGINEERING - UNREAL ENGINE

What You'll Do
Epic Games Unreal Engine team is looking for a smart, creative Physics Programmer Intern to join them for the 2024 summer! As part of the Physics Engine team, you will help us to bring the latest physics gameplay features such as destruction, vehicles, and physics based characters to content creators in UEFN (Unreal Editor for Fortnite), allowing them to make Epic physics-based experiences.
Your responsibilities will include building and testing physics features in UEFN as well as helping to expose and enhance physics workflows.
In this role, you will
- Build tests and debugging tools for the Unreal Engine physics system
- Investigating and fixing bugs related to engine code
- Collaborate with others on the team to maintain and improve current systems
- Document technology implementation details
What we're looking for
- Degree work in CS or related fields
- Strong C++ skills
- Excellent math and/or physics skills preferred
- An analytical mind with strong problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated interest in games
- Experience with multiple core system tasks, such as graphics, tools, audio/video, networking, memory handling, script compilers, I/O, etc.
- Examples of projects in gaming or game engine technology a plus
This internship has a flexible start date in 2024. Recruitment will be ongoing until teams find an ideal match.
