SOCIAL ECOSYSTEM
What We Do
Social Ecosystem is the Epic organization that owns the answers to three questions: Who are our players? How are they organized? and What can they do together? These areas of concern cover responsibilities including account management, parties, voice chat, child safety, in-game social overlay, stewardship of personal data, and more. Our platform is designed to be used by developers within and beyond the walls of the Epic ecosystem, and supports exciting titles like Fortnite, Rocket League, and Fall Guys.
What You'll Do
The Lead Engineer for Identity will be responsible for driving the performance, culture, and practices of a squad of seasoned, passionate engineers.
In this role, you will
- Lead a squad in creating and operating online systems and solutions spanning backend services and web apps.
- Own technical design and drive implementation of robust, highly scalable online solutions.
- Define, deliver, and drive ongoing improvement of SLAs for a variety of Social Ecosystem initiatives.
- Partner with stakeholders to establish clear priorities and define expectations which translate into a scope of work the team can effectively deliver on.
- Manage the needs of the team, understanding strengths, areas of potential growth, and surfacing opportunities for development.
- Communicate expectations and results clearly and frequently with a diverse array of external stakeholders and partners.
- Provide deep knowledge of Social Ecosystem systems, and drive best practices around industry standards including scalability, resiliency, and security.
What we're looking for
- Experience with account and personal identity management systems or experience building large scale service oriented architectures in the entertainment industry.
- Strong experience as an engineering leader.
- Proven track record of guiding and developing squads to deliver online solutions at scale, leveraging industry best practices and standards.
- Knowledge and understanding of system health, monitoring, and troubleshooting for distributed online solutions.
- Experience architecting, designing, and developing complex back-end systems.
