Title: Accounting Supervisor

About the Role

Ushur is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to support and scale our accounting and finance operations for the India entity. This role will play a key part in managing day-to-day accounting activities, account receivable, payroll, statutory compliances, and audit support, while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong financial controls. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and has a solid understanding of Indian accounting and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Accounting & Financial Operations

  • Own and manage customer invoicing processes, ensuring accuracy and timely issuance
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including bank, payroll, tax, and intercompany accounts
  • Support month-end and year-end close activities and ensure proper accounting entries
  • Maintain accurate books of accounts in line with accounting standards and internal policies

  Payroll Management

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing, including Indian payroll
  • Ensure accurate calculation of salaries, reimbursements, bonuses, and statutory deductions
  • Coordinate with payroll vendors and internal teams to ensure timely and compliant payroll execution

  India Statutory & Regulatory Compliance

  • Manage TDS compliances, including calculation, deduction, deposit, and return filings
  • Handle GST compliances, including reconciliations, filings, and responses to notices, if any
  • Ensure compliance with all other statutory requirements for the India entity (PF, ESI, PT, etc.)
  • Maintain organized documentation to support audits and regulatory reviews

  Audit & Controls

  • Support statutory, internal, and tax audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation
  • Coordinate with auditors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth audit closures
  • Assist in strengthening accounting processes and internal controls as the organization scales

  Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams to support finance operations
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation
  • Take ownership of miscellaneous accounting and finance tasks required to support a growing business

  Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CA / CMA / CPA (or equivalent) preferred
  • 5–8 years of relevant accounting experience, with strong exposure to Indian accounting and compliances
  • Hands-on experience with TDS, GST, payroll, and statutory filings
  • Experience supporting audits and working with external auditors
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, reconciliations, and accounting principles
